Education, and experience 

Minimum Education & Experience

Matric + a tertiary qualification in Logistics

  9. Technical and functional proficiency in material & logistics knowledge, geography of Sub Sahara

Africa, shipping methods, material handling equipment, import export procedures and the exposure to a variety of processes (mining industry, maintenance, mobile equipment). 

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  1. Daily critical review on the whereabouts of import and export cargo, and this with: a. Freight forwarders and transporters
    b. Clearing agents
    c. Security agencies

d. 3rd Party assaying companies e. All other parties involved

  1. Daily communication on the whereabouts of import and export cargo, and this with: a. End users,

b. Project team
c. Expeditors (imports)
d. Metal Sales & Marketing Group (Johannesburg and Phoenix)

  1. Reporting:
    a. Whereabouts of cargo

b. Transit time calculation
c. Verification of demurrage invoices

  1. Conceptualize, develop and implement efficient tracking systems and reports. Improve communication flows between the different units.
