Join a subsidiary of a US Multinational Group that is a market leader both locally and internationally and become the Finance Director with full general management responsibilities of a small new plant. 

This position is based in Lubumbashi, DRC and noting that the operation is currently being set up and will manufacture products which are mainly sold into the Mining Sector. This business will be employing approximately 12 staff which will include the Finance Director, (who will be reporting to the Divisional Managing Director in Johannesburg), Accountant and 10 plant employees which will all be Congolese staff.  Naturally as French is the national language, the candidate must be fluent in French as well as English. 

The candidate will be fully responsible for running this small business and once again emphasising that the product being manufactured is a market leader and has a huge demand with the Mines.  The candidate will be responsible for the profit and loss of the business, will manage all the staff, control the day to day running of the operations, will visit customers, control all the accounting functions ensuring that the relevant monthly management financial information is accurately prepared, namely:  financial statements, cashflow & forecasting, variance analyses, as well as the annual budget and year-end financial statements.  The candidate will also be the legal representative and ensure compliance with all local legislation. 

The successful candidate will be either a Chartered Accountant, CTA or B. Comm (Accounting) with a financial, general management and operational background.  A successful track record in a manufacturing environment is an absolute prerequisite.  As stated above, fluency in both French and English is required and able to work independently, proactively, assertively together with superior organising and planning skills.  Needless to say, a high work ethos as well as business ethics and integrity are key requirements as well.
