Regional Sales Manager (French Speaking)

Mining Sub Saharan Africa

This department focusses on the commercial side of our business where we sell electrical components to mining distributors and mines within Sub Sahara Africa.

The candidate chosen for this position would be responsible for maintaining and driving sales plus turnover development within the Mining department within the following Sub Saharan countries :

• South Africa ( Customer to be advised )

• Namibia

• Mozambique

• Botswana

(These areas of responsibility are subject to change with a reasonable notice period)

Countries allocations are subject to change as per discretion of the Head of Mining.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Achieve Mining Regional Targets as per the countries stipulated above

• Management of existing accounts, obtain orders.

• Add value to the customer by training his staff, marketing material, combined mine visits, stock planning, liaising with Hella HQ on his behalf on logistics etc.

• New business development -Creation and development of new business by calling on mines which do not have a direct account - Create a pull effect.

a. Finding new business opportunities within the commercial arena for Hella.

• Provide market intelligence by monitoring and reporting of opposition activities / product portfolio / pricing / promotions / etc.

• Participating in Customer events (i.e. customer evenings, road shows and demo days etc.)

• Territory Management – Route Planning, call schedule, etc.

• Relationship management - Maintain, strengthen and develop customer relationship on all levels

• Ensure all customers are compliant with our Terms and Conditions of sale.

• Ensure all customers signed and understood their distributor agreement

• Reporting – weekly / monthly or as requested to be completed timeously in line with requirements from SOE Sales Manager

• Monitoring and controlling of Company Vehicle mileage in line with Avis contract and provided fuel card

• Responsible usage of IT tools provided by the company in line with policy and procedures

• Comply with a lawful / reasonable instruction or request from HASA management over and above duties as laid out above.


• Senior Certificate

• Certificate or Diploma in Sales management would be an advantage

• The candidate must be fluent in English and Afrikaans. An understanding of Portuguese and French would be

an advantage.

• Understand the basic fundamentals of Electrical engineering

• At least three years sales experience in the mining environment

• Proven sales track record

• Trade References

• Must be willing to travel extensively
